Emma Murray
Emma is a Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist that has completed further post-graduate studies in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Queensland. Emma has a strong interest in the assessment and management of people presenting with complex musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction; with a particular focus on load optimisation and biomechanical correction to maximize outcomes and prevention. In addition, Emma also recognises the importance to treat the individual holistically and to integrate the biopsychosocial model to an individuals’ management and care.
Emma has also completed an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science in 2011 at Griffith University, whereby individualised exercise prescription that is evidence-based makes up a solid foundation to her management style and intervention approach. With the addition of two post-graduate master’s degrees in Physiotherapy and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, manual therapy also makes up an important component to her approach in the management of musculoskeletal conditions.
Emma is passionate about improving the quality of peoples’ lives by empowering them with the knowledge and skills to maintain movement. Her approach is based on a partnership that empowers the individual to understand their condition and by providing self-management prevention strategies to provide long-lasting results that will surpass the treatment room.
In addition to clinic, Emma is an Assistant Professor at Bond University in the Doctor of Physiotherapy Program - Musculoskeletal. Previously, Emma has taught at the University of Queensland in the undergraduate physiotherapy.
